Wade Belak
The Quebec Nordiques drafted Wade Belak in 1994 but he continued to play for his junior team. In fact, he joined the Nords’ AHL affiliate for their playoff run and then returned to the Saskatoon Blades for another season! When the Nordiques became the Colorado Avalanche, Belak followed them, although he only played a smattering of games. Traded to Calgary in the Theoren Fleury trade, Belak found he was again used as a utility player. When the Flames placed him on waivers in 2000, Toronto picked him up where he has seen more ice-time. Belak looks set to inherit the enforcer mantle from veteran Tie Domi for the Maple Leafs.
