John Ferguson Jr.
Following in his father's footsteps, John Ferguson Jr. was drafted in the 12th round of the 1985 Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. Through his duration in professional hockey, Ferguson was never able to make it past the minor leagues and thus decided to retire in 1993 to further pursue his dreams of becoming a lawyer. By 1996, Ferguson was admitted to Massachusetts State Bar, but unable to permanently leave the hockey world, he was also a member of the Ottawa Senators Scouting Staff. In combining the fields of law and hockey Ferguson has held such positions as Player Agent, Chairman of AHL's Competitor Committee and Chairman of the NHL's Legal Affairs Committee. Ferguson also spent many years with the St. Louis Blues franchise as the Assistant GM as well as the VP and Director of Hockey Operations. John Ferguson Jr. is now the GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs, a position which he has held since August 29th, 2003.
