Dave Keon (HHOF ’86)

Possessing a deceptive backhand, Dave Keon was a master of the short-handed goal.  Starting for the Leafs in 1960-61, he won the Calder Trophy that season and was a second team all-star.  He then won four Stanley Cups with the Leafs over six seasons, picking up two Lady Byngs and the Conn Smythe in 1967.  At one time, Keon was also the Leafs all-time leading scorer.  He played in the Summit Series and went on to sign the richest contract that the Leafs had ever offered.  After being treated rudely in public by team owner Harold Ballard, Keon jumped to the WHA.  In 1979, Keon returned to the NHL with the Hartford Whalers before retiring in 1982 after 22 professional seasons.
