Nancy Kerrigan
An Olympic figure skater that has gone through tremendous controversy and media scrutiny, Nancy Kerrigan represented the U.S. at the 1992 Albertville Games and won bronze. In 1994, a rival’s husband assaulted her before a routine. She went on to win the silver, although there was some controversy around the fact that she out-performed the gold medal winner (Controversy in figure skating? Shocking…). Kerrigan remained in the public eye for some time. However, she rebounded and regularly appeared with the Ice Capades. The mother of two also runs a foundation to raise support and awareness for the vision-impaired.
