
Pat Martin
The Quebec native, nicknamed "Pit" after a character in a French Comic Strip, began his NHL career in 1961 playing one game with the Detroit Red Wings. Spending his career between the Red Wings, Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, and Vancouver Canucks, Martin gained the reputation of being dedicated and hard working and although only 5'8" and 165 pounds, the rugged two-way forward proved that he could leave his mark in the NHL by playing hard every shift of every game. In 1970 Pit tallied 30 goals and 33 assists for the Hawks and was awarded the won the Masterton Trophy. A four time NHL All-Star, Pit enjoyed several more seasons as a valuable NHLer before retiring after 16 seasons with 801 points in 1101 games.
