Paul Maurice

Although Paul Maurice had a short lived playing career due to a serious eye injury while playing for the Windsor Spitfire in the OHL, he has definitely made his mark in the hockey world through coaching. Maurice started his coaching career in 1993 with the Detroit Junior Red Wings in the OHL and over two years he led them to win the J. Ross Roberston Cup and to a second place finish at the Memorial Cup in 1995. 1995 also marked another great milestone in Paul Maurice's coaching career at age 28 he was hired as the head coach of the Hartford Whalers, making him the youngest coach at in the NHL up to that point. After 9 seasons with the Carolina Hurricane's (formerly known as the Hartford Whalers) franchise, Paul moved to Toronto where he coached the Toronto Marlies for one season before being hired on as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he is still currently coaching.
