Marnie McBean

She is one of only two Canadians ever to have won three Gold medals in the summer Olympics, striking gold twice in Barcelona and once in Atlanta.  Along with her partner, Kathleen Heddle, Marnie has been instrumental in turning Canada into a rowing powerhouse.  They also set new standards for their sport, and indeed for the Canadian Olympic movement, showing that Canadians could compete successfully against the rest of the world.   McBean is a member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, an acclaimed commentator in Athens Olympic Summer Games and a recipient of the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Medal.  She is currently the Director of Corporate and Athlete Programs at Olympic Spirit Toronto.  McBean is an effective speaker on leadership and teamwork.
