Tony McKegney

Known for his ability to score goals and kill penalties, Tony McKegney was drafted 32nd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1978 Amateur Draft. Prior to being drafted, McKegney spent his junior career with the Kingston Canadiens of the OHA and was not only named to the OHA First and Second All Star Teams, but he also represented Canada at the 1978 World Junior Championship. With only one year spent in the minors, McKegney spent little time adjusting to the professional hockey world and quickly started to produce the goals that he was well known for. McKegney endured a very successful career playing 900 games for 7 different clubs and spent a year overseas playing for the Vanese Club of Italy before retiring after the 1992/92 season.
