Brian Mullen
After signing a contract with Winnipeg in 1982, he played on Dale Hawerchuk’s left and had 50 points in his rookie season. After five years with the Jets, he moved to the Rangers to play in his hometown. Between his five seasons in Winnipeg and four in New York, he never scored less than 50 points. In 1991-92, he was with San Jose and was second in team scoring. A year later, he moved to Long Island where he helped upset the defending Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games. In 1993, he suffered a stroke due to a blood clot from a hole in his heart. He had surgery and amazingly was back on skates within two months. Although he never returned to hockey, his impact during the seasons he played is undeniable.
