Pierre Pilote (HHOF ’75)
Although he didn’t play organized hockey until he was 17, Pierre Pilote became one of the feared defensemen in the NHL. In 1955, he played his first NHL game with the Chicago Blackhawks. A tough enforcer, he once knocked both Richard brothers out cold in the same fight! He went on to play 376 consecutive games, including five full seasons. He became team captain in 1960 and the Blackhawks went on to win the Stanley Cup the next year. He won the Norris trophy for three straight seasons from 1963-1965. In 1968, he moved to Toronto where he played his last season.
