
Sam Pollock (HHOF ’78)
One of the most successful executives in hockey history, Sam Pollock engineered the Montreal Canadiens dynasties of the 60’s and 70’s. He joined the team in 1947 and became Director of Player Personnel within three years, a post he kept for 14 years. He oversaw various Montreal affiliates, winning their respective league championships with each one. In 1964, he became the Habs’ GM and Vice-President. In the next 14 years, he saw Montreal win nine Stanley Cups and eight regular season titles. He was also in charge of the 1976 Canada Cup team and was an executive with the Toronto Blue Jays.
