Fred Stanfield
Fred Stanfield started with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1964 but wasn’t a definite first-team player. It was only when he was traded to Boston with Phil Esposito did he get regular playing time. On a line with Johnny Bucyk and Johnny MacKenzie, ‘Steady Freddie’ was an exceptional two-way player and scored 20+ goals in seven different seasons. He won two Stanley Cups with Boston before being traded to Minnesota in 1973. Traded to Buffalo in 1975, he retired after spending his final year as a player-coach in Hershey in 1979. He owns a successful furniture business in Western New York.
