Pete Stemkowski
Moving up through the Maple Leafs’ ranks, Pete Stemkowski alternated between the majors and the minors for three seasons. In 1966-1967, he earned a regular spot on Toronto’s roster and a Stanley Cup in the process. Midway through the next season, he was involved in a blockbuster trade that sent him to Detroit. He played in the All-Star game that year and stayed in Detroit for three seasons before moving to the New York Rangers. In his seven seasons in Manhattan, the Rangers were perpetual playoff contenders, making it to the semis for four straight years. In 1977, he signed with Los Angeles for a season and then retired after the following season in the AHL. He is now a colour commentator for the San Jose Sharks.
