Mats Sundin
Having won three World Championships with Sweden before hitting the NHL, Mats Sundin could be one of the best athletes to ever emerge from Scandinavia. He was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques first overall in 1989, the first European ever to do so. He was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1994 and became their first-ever foreign-born captain. In 2003, he became the first Swedish player to ever reach 1000 points and has led the Leafs in scoring for 10 years. He is the top 50 in all-time points and is on track to be the highest scoring Leaf of all time.
