A proven winner who also generates headlines, Bobby Knight is one of the NCAA’s most successful basketball coaches. A former coach of Army and Indiana University, he won the NCAA title three times with the Hoosiers – 1976, 1981 and 1987. He was head coach at Army at 24 years old, easily the youngest head coach in the country. His 1976 Hoosier team was perfect without a loss. He coached the U.S. to a gold medal at the 1979 Pan-Am games and at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Knight has won over 900 NCAA Division I basketball games and is the winningest coach in Big Ten history, having been named Big Ten Coach of the Year five times. Knight retired in February of 2008 and is now a part time commentator with ESPN. (NBHOF ’91)
