The epitome of hard work and tenacity, Dan Maloney went 14th overall to Chicago in 1970. Moving back and forth between Chicago and the minors, he became known as an enforcer. In 1973, he moved to the Los Angeles Kings. He moved to Detroit in 1975 with Marcel Dionne going the other way. Following another three-year stint, he became a Maple Leaf until he retired in 1982 with 1524 PIMs over 777 games. He was the Leafs head coach from 1984 to 1986 and then was Winnipeg’s boss for three seasons.
