Jonas Hiller
Biography
Born in Felben-Wellhausen, Switzerland in 1982, Calgary Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller is one of only a handful of Swiss born players to play regularly in the NHL. Beginning his pro career in his native Switzerland, Hiller won the Swiss Championship in 2002, 2005 and 2007 while playing for HC Davos. In addition to the 3 Swiss Championships, HC Davos also won the 2004 and 2006 Spengler Cup. Hiller was signed by the Anaheim Ducks as an undrafted free agent in 2007, and made his NHL debut in London, England on September 30th 2007, earning a win against the Los Angeles Kings. Hiller would play 7 seasons with the Ducks, spending the majority of the time as the team’s starting goaltender. On July 1st 2014, Hiller signed as an unrestricted free agent with his current team, the Calgary Flames.
