Kris King
Biography
Drafted by the Capitals in 1984, he never put pen to paper and instead signed with Detroit as a free agent in 1987. He eventually played only a season for the Red Wings and was traded to the Rangers in 1989. After three-and-a-half seasons, he was again traded, this time to Winnipeg. When the franchise relocated to Phoenix in 1996, King followed. He signed as a free agent in Toronto in 1997 where he played all 82 games. The next year, new coach Pat Quinn encouraged his hard-nosed style and the Leafs made the semi-finals. He spent some time with Chicago before retiring, and now works as a Senior Director of Hockey Operations for the NHL.
