Mark Napier started his professional career with the WHA’s Toronto Toros in 1975. His 43 goals that year earned him Rookie of the Year. Moving to the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens in 1978, he earned 31 points in 54 games and helped the Habs win the Stanley Cup. In 1983, he was traded to Minnesota. Halfway through the next season, he was sent to Edmonton where he scored 35 points in the season’s remainder, followed by 10 playoff points and another Stanley Cup. Napier was traded to Buffalo late in the 1986-87 season, where he remained for two more seasons before departing for Europe. Napier is now actively involved with the NHL Oldtimers’ Hockey Tour.
