Mike O’Shea
Biography
After the Eskimos selected him 4th overall in 1993, Mike O’Shea was traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where the linebacker started right away. In his second season he had 95 defensive tackles and was a CFL all-star. Halfway through the 1996 season, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts. That year, he made six tackles in the Argos’ Grey Cup win, a performance that both he and Toronto repeated in 1997. In 1999, he was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Player. After playing a single season for Hamilton – where he had a career game against Toronto – he returned to the Argonauts and won a third Grey Cup with them in 2004. O’Shea is a team leader and is one of the Argonauts most popular players in history.
