Mike Palmateer
Biography
After playing in the Toronto area right under the noses of Maple Leaf brass, Mike Palmateer finally got a shot between the pipes at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1976. While some considered him a cocky player, he got the job done and raised the play of the Leaf team. In 1980, he was traded to the Washington Capitals. After two seasons there, he moved back to the Leafs. Although he put in some serious game time, a bum knee wouldn’t allow him to continue; he retired in 1984. He is now a scout with the Maple Leafs.
