One of the greatest CFL quarterbacks of all time, Damon Allen led his teams to victories throughout an astounding 22 year professional career. At one point having to choose between a professional career in baseball or football, Allen debuted in 1985 as an undrafted free agent for the Edmonton Eskimos. Initially a backup for his rookie season, Allen played in the Grey Cup championship game as an injury replacement for starter Matt Dunigan. Upon defeating the Toronto Argonauts, Allen was named the Grey Cup MVP. Throughout his career Allen also played for the Ottawa Rough-Riders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Memphis Mad Dogs, BC Lions and the Argonauts. Allen has a total of four Grey Cups, being named Grey Cup MVP in three of those games. In 2005, at the age of 42 Allen won the CFL Most Outstanding Player Award. Allen retired after the 207 season at the age of 44. He is currently pro football’s combined rushing and passing leader with a total of 84 301 yards!
