Boasting more than 30 years in both amateur and professional figure skating. She has participated in two Olympic Games (where she won the 1988 silver medal and became the Olympic Freestyle Champion) Six World Championships winning the World Silver Medal in 1988 and has won three National Titles. Since her retirement from amateur competition she has been the author of two autobiographies, Thumbs Up: The Elizabeth Manley Story and Elizabeth Manley: As I Am, My Life after the Olympics. She has also starred in three television specials, Trial of RedRiding Hood, Back to the Beanstalk, and Dear Elizabeth, which won a Gemini Award. She was also a sports commentator for NBC for the Salt Lake City and Torino Olympic Games, and was a part of the CTV broadcast team for the Vancouver Olympic Games. As a professional she has won over 15 Professional Competitions and has been a star with over 5 Major Tour Companies. In 1988, Manley was made a Member of the Order of Canada. She is also a member ofthe Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame, the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame, and the Skate Canada Hall of Fame. In 2014, she was also inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. In 2015 Elizabeth was awarded the prestigious award called the "Builders Award" from the United Way in Ottawa area for her continuous contribution to the community and charity work. Elizabeth has been busy with appearances. Recent television work has had her appearing on Storage Wars Canada and won the W-Network special Extreme Potluck with partner Drew from the Property Brothers. She presently is the Director of Skating at the Granite Club in Toronto. Elizabeth is a Producer , Charity Ambassador , MC for many events , Performer, Commentator and with passion has spoken to more then 150 Schools and numerous organizations about the importance of Mental Health and not being afraid to reach out for help.
