Stellick was born and raised in Toronto and grew up a Maple Leaf fan. He began working at Maple Leaf Gardens in the press box on game nights in 1975 while still in high school this culminated in April 1988 - being named the Leaf’s General Manager at the age of 30, the youngest GM in NHL history. After a spat with then owner Harold Ballard he resigned and moved to NY as the Assistant GM. He later traded NHL management for a microphone, joining Rogers SportsNet and the Fan 590 as the Host of Leaf’s Nation and Hockey Insider. He is also the current Co-Host NHL Morning Skate on the NHL Network on SiriusXM. Stellick co-wrote, '67: The Maple Leaf’s, Their Sensational Victory and the End of an Empire, about the last season the Toronto Maple Leaf’s won the Stanley Cup.
