When Johnny Bucyk retired in 1978, only Gordie Howe, Phil Esposito and Stan Mikita had more points than him. With 556 goals and 1369 points, Bucyk was one of the most feared players to ever lace the skates. Starting with the Detroit Red Wings, Bucyk moved onto what he now calls home, Boston. He would play in Boston for another 21 years, picking up two Lady Byng Memorial Trophies (1971, 1974) for gentlemanly conduct, a Lester Patrick trophy (1977) and two Stanley Cups with the Bruins in 1970 and 1972. Bucyk set an unprecedented record in 2008 when he reached 50 consecutive years of being involved with the Boston Bruins.
