Karen Cockburn

4-time trampoline gymnast Olympian Karen Cockburn competed in her first Olympics at the 2000 Sydney Games at the age of 19.  As Canada sole female competitor and the youngest female athlete in her discipline, she came home with a Bronze Medal.  Cockburn continued her Olympic success 4 years later in Athens, when she won a Silver Medal.  Prior to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, Cockburn injured her knee shortly before the Olympic Qualifier.  Deciding to delay surgery until after the Olympics, Cockburn trained and prepared herself through great pain.  Her effort resulted in a Silver Medal at the 2008 Beijing Games.  At the 2012 London Olympic Games, Cockburn won her 4th Olympic Medal and her 3rd Silver Medal.    As of 2019 she was the National Team Director for Trampoline Gymnastics at Gymnastics Canada
