Drafted by the Washington Capitals in 1984, Kris never ended up signing there. Instead, he set his sights on the motor city where he would begin his remarkable career. Kris played one full season in Detroit before heading to the New York Rangers. After three-and-a-half seasons, he moved again, this time to Winnipeg. Here, he would wear the “C” and go on to win the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 1996. Kris is known in Winnipeg as one of the best leader’s the franchise had ever seen. When the team relocated to Phoenix in 1996, King followed. He signed as a free agent in Toronto in 1997 where he played all 82 games. King played in 916 NHL Games and recorded 2164 Penalty Minutes.
