Bio

Marcel Dionne was one of the NHL’s most prolific scorers ever.  Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1971, he scored 77 points in his rookie year with the Wings, earning him an invitation to Team Canada’s 1972 Summit Series.  Dionne moved to LA and over a dozen seasons, he would top the 100-point mark seven times and was a two-time winner of the Lady Byng and Lester B. Pearson trophies.  In 1980, he won the Art Ross trophy when he tied young Wayne Gretzky with 137 points and edged him on goals.  In 1987, he was a late-season trade to the New York Rangers where he finished his career.  Dionne currently sits fifth on the all-time scoring list (1,771 points) and fourth on the all-time goals list (731).
