A sportscaster since the late 1970s, Mark Hebscher got his first big break in 1984, when he became host of the then popular Sportsline on Global TV. He would work for Global for 11 years, until joining AM640 as a morning sports anchor, play by play broadcaster for the Toronto Argonauts and color commentator for Toronto Maple Leafs games. After short stints at both The Score and Rogers Sportnet, Hebscher joined CHCH TV as an anchor from 2003 to 2015.He has subsequently hosted podcasts, most recently Hebsy on Sports with Mike Boon, which started in 2018. Hebscher stopped the podcast in May 2023, officially retiring. Hebscher wrote a book called the Greatest Athlete (you've never heard of), about George Orton, the first Canadian to win an Olympic Gold Medal Throughout his career, Hebscher has won 2 Gemini Awards for best sportscaster.
