His standout performances attracted the attention of NHL scouts, leading to his selection by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Transitioning to the professional realm, Brown navigated the ranks of the Canucks' affiliate team, the Manitoba Moose, before earning his NHL debut with the Canucks in 2007.
