Mike spent three years at the University of North Dakota winning a National Championship. The NJ Devils would draft him 42nd overall in 1999. He spent parts of the next two seasons between NJ and Albany of the AHL. Commodore fame grew quickly as a member of the Calgary Flames during the ’04 Stanley Cup Finals, where his pre-game helmet less skate with a big red afro and matching beard became a hit with the fans. Mike, went onto play in Carolina winning the Stanley Cup in ’06. He also played for Columbus, Ottawa, Detroit, and Tampa Bay. He totalled 537 NHL Games and won a GOLD medal representing Canada at the 2007 World Championships.
