After the Eskimos selected him 4th overall in 1993, Mike O’Shea was traded to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats where the linebacker started right away. In his second season he had 95 defensive tackles and was a CFL all-star. Halfway through the 1996 season, he signed with the Toronto Argonauts. That year, he made six tackles in the Argos’ Grey Cup win, a performance that both he and Toronto repeated in 1997. In 1999, he was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Canadian Player. After playing a single season for Hamilton – where he had a career game against Toronto – he returned to the Argonauts and won a third Grey Cup with them in 2004. O’Shea is a team leader and is one of the Argonauts most popular players in history. O'Shea became an assistant coach for the Toronto Argonauts in 2010 and held the position until 2013. Since 2014, he has been head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
