Olli Veli Pekka Jokinen, born on December 5, 1978, is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player with an extensive career spanning various teams in the NHL, as well as stints in Finland, Switzerland, and Sweden. Jokinen was drafted third overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut with them. Throughout his career, he played for several NHL teams, including the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames, New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and St. Louis Blues. Jokinen holds the record for the most NHL games played before making his first Stanley Cup playoff appearance, with 799 games. He reached the milestone of 1,000 career NHL games in 2012. Internationally, Jokinen represented Finland on numerous occasions, winning accolades such as a gold medal at the 1998 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships and medals at the Olympics and World Championships.
