Linden was born and raised in Medicine Hat AB and would play his junior hockey with the hometown Tigers. He led them to two consecutive Memorial Cup Championships. He was drafted 2nd overall in 1988 by the Vancouver Canucks and made an immediate impact scoring 30 goals in his rookie season. Linden spent 10 years in his first stint with the Cancuks and led them to the Stanley Cup Finals in ’94 falling to the NYR in game 7. He would move onto play for the NYI, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals before returning to Vancouver in ’01 for six more seasons. Internationally he represented Canada winning Gold in the World Juniors and Silver at the World Cup of Hockey & World Championships and played in the ’98 Olympics. His NHL totals for 20 seasons were 1506 games played & 966 points and his #16 was the second jersey retired by the Canucks for “Captain Canuck”. During his career Trevor was a leader and captained the Canucks and Islanders. He was also very active within the NHLPA and was President for many years. This experience paved the way for his post playing career and became part of the Cancuks management team as President of Hockey operations, a post he held for 4 years. Currently Trevor and his wife Cristina have one son Roman and reside in the Vancouver area. He is highly active with his Club 16 – Trevor Linden Fitness and other various charitable causes.
